Marines storm beaches, paratroops drop out of the sky. Combine them and you have to train for two distinctly different jobs. That means more expensive training or less prepared troops.

GySgt John Olson - It's not impossible to do, navy Seals are trained for airborne and water insertions. But it is definitely more expensive training and not everyone is willing to do everything. I'm not sure it's going to save them the money they think it will. Or their troops will be less effective overall.

Need to stay separate and focus on their individual missions. A watered down combination force will loose some combat effectiveness, IMO. Stay in your individual lanes.

Brit paras are excellent soldiers. Trained w/them a bit over there.
Work hard, play hard. Would serve w/them any time.
Would be a miss to see them fold w/Marines. They have such an illustrious heritage.
