There's a valuable lesson in this story for all of us. Social media has elevated the risks that simple civility once shielded us from. Distance, shouting at one another across the word tempts us to say things we would never consider saying face-to-face, and with the world lurking on the sidelines listening, exposes us to legal liability, especially if we have deep pockets. Thankfully, the RP community exercises more restraint than I see on public social media, probably because we share a mutual foundation for respect, but that foundation sometimes crumbles around the edges as we are influenced by the very heated issues being exploited by ideological leaders in the broader American and worldwide communities.
