I totally concur that God's Word and His Promises are foundational to our Salvation, Peace and Comfort. I do however find myself a little at odds with some of what you have said. You said; That is why we need to turn off the news, tune out the world and tune in to God's Holy Word for encouragement, to refuel our spirit man so that we can withstand the wiles of the enemy.
Our Biblical example shows God both leading and exhorting His people to overcome theirs and His enemies. There are many examples of this. Also, if we remain uninformed by 'turning off the news and tuning out the world' we cannot adequately resist Satan or offer comfort, solace and peace to others because we can't possibly understand their needs without being thus informed. Also, without knowing about the deeds of darkness, we cannot adequately obey Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
Yes we are greatly encouraged by God's Abiding Word and His Promises. We are likewise greatly encouraged by the fellowship of other believers: Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
I do not intend to challenge your Encouragement in a harmful way, only to add to it such as I believe it will further encourage others.

SGT Scott Adie I agree with what you said, I could probably word it better than I did, we have to be able to unplug, disconnect for a time in order to encourage ourselves and to refuel so that we are prepared to battle once again. Sorry about that, I should have been more clear.

SPC Chris Hallgrimson No apology needed brother, love to hear from you and you're right sometimes we must unplug for our mental health.
