When was the last time we heard someone so close to the chief executive and corresponding leadership in power in a country began saying people critical of the government - in this instance the members of the democratic party - "are not even people" - with the implication they should not be regarded as people or protected as people in the development of government policies inimical to their interests as people? I would say it is different when your father is the president - and you are a close advisor who runs the president's businesses - where the president and the leadership could in principle order law enforcement and military authorities to round up and/or otherwise dismiss, degrade and disadvantage these and others who are "not even people" - to accomplish the goals and objectives of the government in power. To say people hold deplorable opinions is nothing like saying they are not even people. Warmest Regards, Sandy

That's almost as crazy as if the nominee of a major political party were to declare tens of millions of Americans to be "deplorables" and beyond redemption. How could such a thing occur in the U.S.?

SP5 Christine Conley - Do I identify with the President's supporters then? Yes, I do. I don't agree with Mrs. Clinton's charactetization of us as deplorable though. It is possible to have ideas other than those espoused by progressives and Democrats and still not be deplorable.

She, like most libs in this country for the past decade, throw around terms like racism and misogyny and xenophobia and fascism either without knowing what they really mean or giving them conveniently narrow definitions to suit their arguments.

Most "invented" news are opinion articles created from facts that actually happened, many a time, just speculating based on events. I will use a left-side news to show I'm not biased.
CNN would report an article with a title stating "Trump is Racist". When the reader actually reads through the article, the can see the opinion is based on words and actions of what the POTUS actually said.
We've also seen the same on right wing news. Title: Obama is a Muslim terrorist. Then there will be words and actions of Obama to support that claim/opinion. Filter it as it was needed.
The events did indeed happen, do what you wish with that information.

SrA Edward Vong - I was referring to CNN staging an Islamic protest this weekend. That was completely invented "news." And if they are willing to present that fabrication as news, you have to wonder what else they have reported that they simply invented.
