CPT Durish: I'm OK with politics as long as RP remains a venue for all points of view. When and if its leadership clamps down on free speech, then I'll go elsewhere.
As for ESPN, they are following in the footsteps of many once successful channels that have strayed away from their original and successful theme. It's what happens when new leadership comes in and decides to change things (in their own image). MTV stopped playing music videos to produce reality TV shows, The History Channel stopped showing historical documentaries in favor of ghosts and Bigfoot hunters, TechTV gave up technology in favor of "Lifestyles", Scifi became SyFy in an effort to bring in non-science fiction fans, and now we have ESPN showing more talk shows than actual sports (FYI: Yesterday ESPN.com highlighted feminist poetry). All that aside, ESPN's big money problems are related to rapidly declining Cable and Satellite subscription rates and the delinking of ESPN from mandatory subscription packages.

I am with you on this one. Politics tends to separate folks. RP should be bringing us together, not split us up.

I pass by several threads when I see who started the topic. Not only do I not want to engage in those conversations anymore, I don't want to reward/encourage their contentious pot-stirring by adding to their point totals.
