I've read Brideshead Revisited, but was not a fan. I don't care for the post WWI "we lesser children of greater fathers" meme that dominated Brit literature from EM Forster and DH Lawrence on down until, really, the present.

It’s a dark work and everyone loses in Brideshead Revisited, 1SG Steven Imerman (except maybe the Catholic Church). It wasn’t required reading in school, and I read it because I thought I should. After I finished reading it, I wondered why I did.
There was no way that I was going to torture myself with the 1981 miniseries (11 parts) and after watching the 2008 film, I still wasn’t persuaded otherwise.
