This was somewhat staggering to me. Saw many who were struggling in my civilian job, but had no idea percentage was so high.

Pretty slim article on specifics. I don't see 40k/ yr as poverty. I'm waiting on the studying linking poverty to poor decision making skills.

A secondary issue is this group of folks have no savings for retirement. I think this group will be easily manipulated to assist one political party in pushing for the universal income. We are experiencing a new form of warfare committed against the American People: economic warfare. The political elite on both sides will use this large group to continue to push socialism down our throats.
