I wonder if it's from the same volcanic chain as Krakatoa? I feel sorry for the people fleeing and the stranded tourists .The Kyoto Accords and all your carbon taxes are a waste because Mother Nature will still pump out more CO2. Related to this phenomenon,.... Environmentalists and California politicians can't control mother nature but they sure come with schemes to charge you more for gasoline and natural gas like in Canada. I think the same thing is happening to gasoline and utility custoners in Western Europe.

Do volcanoes emit more CO2 than humans?
Volcanoes emit around 0.3 billion tonnes of CO2 per year. This is about 1% of human CO2 emissions which is around 29 billion tonnes per year.
