The Jessica Lynch rescue is coming back to haunt US yet again. Even at the time many got the impression this was a staged PR event to make the administration look good and build sympathetic and patriotic support for the war against WMDs. It was even suggested that she was in no danger at the time she was 'rescued' and that the entire mission was a walk in the woods. What are your thoughts on this and do you have any back room information or scuttlebutt on what really happened??

To her credit, Jessica Lynch publicly stated she did nothing to deserve the bronze star she was awarded. And I wouldn't be surprised to hear that from the two unnamed silver star recipients as well. The pentagon turned her rescue into a national dog and pony show much like they did with their bullshit story about the tragic death of Pat Tillman.
