I had an individual try telling me a few weeks ago that he was a sniper with Force Recon and got a silver star when he was in Beirut when the Barrack were blown up. I don't think he realizes you can look up Silver Star recipients. He also claims to have been in for 30 years and was one of the Marines that got caught in Kahje Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm and got a Bronze star for that.

I know some people don't like Barrack Obama but he has never been blown and while I never voted for him, I don't want Barrack blown up!

You can look up Silver Star recipients but the records are inaccurate and not complete...just a point of interest...

Correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that not all Silver Stars or DSM awards are published to t the circumstances that they where involved in. But are listed
on the their DD214's.

Right off, he's too smiley - what CSM have you ever run across who smiled like that? Every SGM and above I ever ran across scared the living crap out of me, as it should be. lol. And what lanyard is he wearing on his left shoulder?

My current BN CSM is the kind that is friendly and smiley. And honestly, that DOES scare the hell out of me as I have never seen his bad side.........and I dont WANT to see that bad side. But when he goes from smiley to straight face, that is when sphincters pucker.

Let's see if I can point out all the errors:

1: Brass Enlisted Rank on the Cover
2: Service Stripes way too high on the sleeve
3: Sleeves too low at the wrists
4: Ribbons out of order/not placed correctly
5: Jump Wings and Qualification Badge too low
6: CIB too low over ribbons
7: Unit Awards too low and out of order
8: Don't think he is old enough to have earned/wear the Fourragere with the 3rd ID (unless Soldiers are currently allowed to wear it since the 3rd did earn it)
9: Tie pin

Our faux E-9 is also wearing that fourragere as an individul, not a unitl award. When worn as a unit award the double strand of rope on the outside of the sleeve is omitted.

As someone who spent all of his military career (36 years) in the Navy, and most of that with the Marine Corps, keep all of the uniform awards, patches, brass, etc. straight? That is one advantage to the MC. Medals/ribbons (a fourragere if with the 5th), service strips, that's about it.

Probably the only ribbons he could find at the Army-Navy store he bought the oversized uniform from.
