I'm sure some will distract themselves with the source of this story, but it is useful in opening a discussion into the roots of the division in America today. The simple fact is that we too often get lost in the ideological woods between the Left and Right sides of the political spectrum, and lose sight of an even deeper menace, the Administrative State. The minions who occupy the bureaucracies have grown ever more dangerous as we cede governmental functions, the all important functions of the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches of our government to these anonymous cogs in the machinery of Washington. Piss ants such as the FBI minion mentioned in this story have access to key documentary evidence and a snip here, an edit there, can alter the course of history. Most people argue over whether President Reagan or General Secretary Gorbachev brought down the Soviet Union. All miss the point.
