It will be expensive. I did anesthesia for one of the first internal cardiac defibrillators. It was open heart surgery with the patches actually sewed to the heart. Today a catheter is floated into the heart and anchored. Takes about 1/2 an hour compared to the three it took for the first one.

Gene therapy is not physically invasive. I am not anything near a expert but where will the costs come from?

The article said the cost could run to $1 million. Once the process becomes common the cost will come down as with internal cardiac defibrillators.
