Here, at the bottom end of government, is the "requirement" for a pet license. Why do you need one? I have never understood the logic behind this bit of government policy. And from here, we can start up the chain of governmental over reach. Trim enough of it and our taxes will go a lot farther. Our dog is also (registered) as my wife's service dog.

SSgt (Join to see), I am so happy to live in Alaska where we don't have to put up with this kind of BS. No license required, but shooting a man's dog in my area can literally get you killed and buried in the back woods......

I lived just outside of Anchorage for 5 years as a kid. Dogs were almost sacred. Especially the sled dogs. They are still that way to me. But there is no way I can enforce that view on others. And when rules/laws/regulations are made to enforce one view, well, it gets under my skin.

SSgt (Join to see) - I definitely hear you.....I have 4 dogs myself. One rescue, two adults that I bought as pups, and a brand new pup I got just last week. They're about like my kids.......

70 dogs....That is a man with issues and should probably not be carrying a firearm....! Or is it me?

Alan K., trust me when I say, it's not just you !!! As I said in my comment, he's either a coward with issues, or just hates dogs in general (bitten as a kid ??).

It seems kind of low to use your badge as a hunting license for domesticated pets. I have a very real respect for most police officers, but if your reputation, as a law-enforcement official, is for killing dogs, "just because they don't ........", it seems like you are just grinding your own axe, or trying to take out your frustrations on the weak. I hope that the local law enforcement will keep an eye out for the sudden surge of unprovoked pet killings, both unlicensed and licensed, that this ruling is bound to cause.
