That sounds great! The only National Park I currently go to (because it is close; less that 100 miles) is Great Smoky Mountains National Park but admission is always free there for everyone. As I get older and if and when I retire I would like to go to the parks out west. Actually I am going there tomorrow to hike!
What is a "Gold Star Family?" I have seen that term but never knew what it meant.

Means a family member died during service. So if a spouse or parent dies during military service on active duty then the family is considered a gold star family. It doesn’t have to be combat related either. I know someone who had a family member on active duty orders for national guard in the state and died in a truck rollover accident. They are considered a gold star family.

MAJ (Join to see) - Thanks for the explanation. Seeing how the only family members I had that were in the military (besides my two brothers) was a step-grandfather I had no idea what it was.
