Hey good luck to her. There is something that makes me feel good and that is her second attempt. That tells me the standards are not lowered because she is a she. I am not trying to pick a fight with anyone but what has to be considered the standards are the standards for a reason. The standards were not developed for any other reason than keeping Marines/etc... alive. thats it.

Gunny, I think that will become evident pretty quick. If she did not, she will fall flat on her face, hell, she may fall flat on her face anyway, shits not easy. Gunny back several years ago when I was training for the Army SF "Q course" I worked my ass off, but if some was going to wish me a little luck I would take it any time. Unfortunately, well wishers did not help much when you were out there by yourself and every part of your body hurt, you felt pretty sure you knew where you were. I remember one day I was out by myself, walking in the middle of nowhere, huge ruck et... I studied my map and thought I might need to skirt this open area. I eased up to the edge and zap some got me. I looked around for a wasp, did not see it so did it again. Zap it got me again, I thought to my self I must be on a nest I did not see them but it hurt. I looked and looked then I saw it, it was an electric fence around this guys pasture. I said well I will skirt right around this pasture here. It was not long and I saw several bad guys out looking for me and any of my other classmates. Hahaha got over on that one.

I think she will do well, I have had students not make it the first time being set back or returned after being in the fleet, Upon their return they came back much better prepared, having having something to prove to themselves and others. I have had to come back to things in my life as well and the mind set was outside of dying I would succeed. As I know she most likely well. I applaud the Marine Corps for allowing her to do so. But that is what the Corps does they build combat leaders.

I would like to say I was first in every class I ever took, but that would be a big ole fat lie. I made it as far as I did because I would not quit. If I did not make it the first time I would go back as soon as I was ready. Ref the Corps building leaders, I was very fortunate in my many years in the Army I worked with the RECON Marines several times. I was always impressed!
