Here my beef, and its not with transgender service ce men and women, by rather the continued double standard. I was given an honorable discharge with no possibility to reenlist due to blood clots and other vascular disabilities even though I have never failed a PFT. And once discharged faced multiple surgeries and a life of pain and suffering. And of fighting for a disabilities rating since the day I was discharged in 1986. I now I can no longer work. And I'm being ignored by the federal government. Yet the latest trend being transgender health care is getting national support and awareness. I believe my situation has equal value and I'm left to fend for myself.

Cpl Thomas Kifer my heart goes out to you. I encourage you not to give up your struggle with the VA. It took me over 4 years to get my claim processed and I found the disabled American veterans organization to be instrumental. So, if you haven't already I would contact a local DAV office, and ask for help.

Simplistic, yes. That attitude has worked for many years in the military and in life!

I noticed the absence of heavy hitters, for the most part, the comments being made by 'younger' BGs & MGs, with a few notable exceptions. I don't think POTUS is going to be concerned about the opinions of 56 retired folks when he is swayed more by insider voices.
