I thought it might be, but I quickly found out TAP/SFL/ACAP is not a Civilian as a Second language course. I got a few friends to review my resume, but they are my friends and know what I'm talking about from their association with me. The transition course needs actual civilian recruiters to help review resumes.

I remember the first time a VetSuccess counselor reviewed my resume. She marked that thing up like a coloring book.

Your right about friends and family members reviewing your resume. I would agree that TAP needs to drill down more on resume translation. Invite more employers to the TAP that are ready to hire.

SGM Earl Richburg - I agree! I'm still learning to branch out to good but "clueless" civilians for help with my resume. They may be clueless about military terms, but I have to realize how uttey clueless I am about civilian terms.
There is nothing more frustrating than learning the job fair representative is not a hiring manager!

something to remember is your dress uniform has a resume on it and all of those awards can be added to your civilian resume and make it stronger because it will attest to your leadership abilities and skills and the dedication you have for duty.
