If you take a look at easily acquired public information, Crozier is Year Group 92 and should have been retired some time ago under DOPMA. He could only stay in through Continuation Boards in which some Flag Sugar Daddies kept him on. The same Flags bypassed highly qualified below/in Flag Zone O-6s to put him on the TR. This habit constipates the promotion flow which creates other problems. It demonstrates a club atmosphere vs. a performance and capability system. I've always been in the retire Crozier now camp (can't wind the clock back, but if I could...) because he didn't force the Task Group Commander to do his job and be accountable. I'm pleased a larger review is going on because the Flag CoC has a much larger problem than an O-6 turning cowboy. Long ago, I learned about "The Flag Club" and see some things haven't changed much. I pushed my Flags, but always kept it private. They didn't want me in their Club and I didn't want to be in it either. Time to go on my own terms.

I agree he was treated poorly. Being fired at a high level is another sign of Flag CoC breakdown. SECNAV bad mouthing him was more than stupid. The whole thing demanded a quiet exit stage right, but nobody had the guts to handle it at the 7th or PAC Fleet level. The Navy continues to be unable to find its butt with both hands given continual leadership failures at the high levels. Ship collisions because sailors are overworked and under trained, creating and fostering a Seal Chief that they later on don't like the outcome, and the list goes on. Top that off with the "We have a Problem" spiel that should have been "Leadership created a problem" and you see they still don't get it.

An O-6 in YG92 wouldn't stat out until 2022.

CAPT Timothy Prendergast - Wow, times change. They aggressively pushed everyone out with the second FOS in my day. I'd presume the zones must have stretched out as well for the timeline to work.

O-6s not yet selected for promotion to flag aren't considered "FOS". Federal Law
10 U.S. Code § 627: Officers on the active-duty list (ADL) in grades BELOW O6 who are in or above a promotion zone but are not selected for promotion are considered to have failed of selection for promotion.

I was on the reserve side so after the second go around there'd be no pay billet. Your choice was to do non challenging VTU work for points only or punch out. Different lens. Thanks for the education...
