Capt Tom Brown, Wouldn't that be awesome. Last year, during Veterans Day, myself and some vet friends were having lunch and I spotted an elderly woman using a walker, leaving the restaurant. She had a WWII cap on so I got up to thank her for her service. Turns out, she was a nurse, and was on Iwo Jima Island, after it was taken. I have a picture. She was 96 or 97 years old. Maybe she will get to go to DC before she passes. I hope to see her this year.

SGT (Join to see) - Totally awesome. Imagine the stories she could tell. Once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and talk with a veteran of Iwo Jima. Corpsmen, nurses, doctors, medical staff all have been in the thick of things since day 1. Even 1LT Sandy Annala can vouch for that.

Capt Tom Brown - I wanted to sit down and talk to her, but her daughter said she was getting tired and had to leave. She was very alert and had all her snap. Does she look close to 100 to you? I loved the little black cap she has on. I hope I see her again before she's leaving.
