Interesting article. I wonder why everyone thinks we are so easy to influence? I wonder why a country with half the population of US is more of a threat then a country China with 300% more people than us. No one seems to catch or understand Chinese influence nor their cyberespionage.

Not only the difficulty to counter it - but the greater difficulties in overhead that make responding in kind a dream.

Because we are a fractured society. We hold the line tightly but at any moment our experiment could fail. We have not confronted race. Less than 2% of our population defend our nation. We have not committed enough resources to end poverty and our laws continue to create an oligarchy at the cost of our democratic values. We couch our hatred in you versus them, poor vs rich. We have poor people voting against thier interest because we have convinced them the benefits of our society goes to the other rather than themselves. We can and have been easily influenced because we fail to do the hard work of self-evaluation and reconcile our ills.
