Hate to admit it, but my first semester of college chemistry they taught us how to use a slide rule and that's what we used on exams. Seemed pretty high speed at the time.

On one hand authorities ask everyone to report anything suspicious, esp in this day and age of world terrorism where you can't tell the good from the bad until they open fire on you or set off a bomb during a marathon. The woman was exercising an abundance of caution, apologies to the professor, but world terrorism has their hands on our throats and we better not let them squeeze. Good for her.

Capt Tom Brown I agree. Better to have precaution based on faulty suspicion than to have a plane load of dead victims because someone was afraid of being seen as stupid or politically incorrect.
