Florida doctor says Miami is turning into ‘epicenter of the pandemic’

Florida Republican state lawmaker Rep. Anthony Sabatini, who has filed numerous lawsuits to prevent mask mandates in his state, tells CNN's Brianna Keilar that his state is doing just fine despite data showing Florida is a hotspot for coronavirus.
I listened to this interview and Rep. Sabatini doesn't see a problem in Florida. When Brianna Keilar mentioned Florida being an epicenter he said he that was a false assessment and he didn't know what she meant by it being an epicenter. He claims because Florida is the third largest state their numbers are actually low in comparison to the state population. When she mentioned that the governor of Alabama has put in mask mandates to include Wal-Mart and Sam's Club his response was that the governor has done a horrible job and believes the voters will throw her out of office.
He talked about fines for not wearing a mask and stated in some cases they were extremely high and even a misdemeanor in one area. With so many people out of jobs these fines are too high. I can agree with that. I don't know if fining people is the right answer, I think it make relations much worse down the road. Do we need to put people in jail for not wearing a mask? How far will we go to get people to comply?

Turning into??? Miami never left. Our numbers never decreased into a downward pattern. Also, there was no testing associated with proper contact tracing of the cases. Still there is poor leadership and misinformation as by the time the test results are known, the function of proper contact tracing to alleviate the spread of the virus is lost. Many of our politicians are delusional or think that the constituency are stupid. I'm only a public school science teacher [retired], but even I could see that the number of hospitalizations and deaths in Florida and Miami-Dade County did not suggest the premature "opening up" that was encouraged. [I also wrote letters to newspapers in early 2003 to sound the alarm that there was no concrete evidence of "weapons of mass destruction." Look what that treasonous scam got us into!] Save Yourselves!
