From the article:
"According to the FBI, a fugitive from justice is defined as the following:
A person who has fled from any state to avoid prosecution for a felony or misdemeanor; or
A person who leaves the state to avoid giving testimony in any criminal proceeding; or
A person who knows that misdemeanor or felony charges are pending against him or her and who leaves the state of prosecution and does not appear before the prosecuting tribunal."
ATF form 4473, Block 21 (d) Are you a fugitive?
The FBI is doing what the law tells them to do. Don't like it? Take it up with your Congressman.

Didn't know you had a warrant? Too bad. And now you will be flagged not only for your warrant, but for attempting to illegally purchase a firearm. So even when you get that warrant cleared up, you still undeniably attempted to purchase a firearm when you were not allowed to do so. You signed the 4473 - you are at fault. The fact that the fault is in OUR system is irrelevant.
Not that the above would ever happen, of course. The government has a long history of being understanding and admitting their errors.
