Good share PO1 William "Chip" Nagel … WWII was a huge logistical effort for all allied nations. Projecting power in the European & Pacific Theaters at the same time. Quite the management/balancing act that had to be performed by the War Department (DoD pre-1947) i.e. General Marshall, General MacArthur, General Eisenhower & others.

I think the DoD realized this and are now trying to reestablish those capabilities, especially with Army and Marine exercises in the Pacific and Defender 2020 in Europe
