NASA has become like almost every other agency that the Govt destroys by touching it, just about everything the Govt touches, get bloated as a jobs supplier, buried in regulation to the point it cant move and finally turned into a political football to make it sink further into the morass that is govt business as usual.

NASA and DoD plan their rocket manifests years ahead of time. SpaceX operates too quickly for government bureaucracy, which is good for commercial space. The government should not accept risk using taxpayer money, so this was the best option--that a commercial launch provider uses a commercial payload on the initial launch of the Falcon Heavy.

If anything we should be celebrating commercial space, not criticizing government space. If SpaceX and other commercial launch providers continue to see success, then we should consider changing NASA's role in space exploration.

Sigh...I think that whole thing is, quite frankly, just one big technojoke, a plaything for a billionaire, not a national goal, I think it's a primitive, outdatedz infantile waste. That billionaire yo-yo thinks he can be the new MASA, if you will, instead, I think the whole thing is quite frankly totally idiotic. The notion of using chemically fueled rockets, whether they have a sufficiently advanced control platform to land upright is, to my mind, utterly meaningless drivel. Those shuttles should never have been turned into museum pieces, they should've been refurbished with upgraded hardware, till a proper platform was available, and even then, the stupid things never did work rught, in any event, with the bulk of their hardware either having to be constantly refurbished, or burned IP in re-entry. There've been nuclear thermal rocket engines for over half a century now, there should've been a full nuclear thermal cargo vessel felt with space stations, and lunar colonies decades ago, and there could've been, if the human race weren't incessantly warring with one another, distracting from the real goal of finally getting off this stupid rock. Toys developed by billionaires neither impress nor fascinate me, they just disappoint me with weariness, quite frankly, I realize others here might disagree with me, however, those are my thoughts for whatever they're worth, guys, OK?
