PFC David Foster - So you are saying that the Democrats who set the system up and had complete control and didn't allow the normal defense process somehow managed to impeach him, which is about the equivalent of indicting him, weren't able to usurp the funtion of the Senate to force through an actual conviction?
I mean, you do understand how the process works, right? That people aren't actually put in jail at the point they are impeached, and that impeachment doesn't necessarily mean a criminal law was broken at this point...?

SPC Stiv ChenRobbins - I repeat, the Republican Senate would not allow witnesses in the Senate trial knowing full well the witnesses would have convicted him. This put Donald Trump above the law. That's what I meant to say if I was unclear.

PFC David Foster - They made their decision in accordance with the procedures and laws in place. The House was the ones who were supposed to present evidence to make the case. The Senate was the ones to decide if it merited a penalty or conviction.

Of course, the House chose to present its case based on politics and timing in order to most affect elections instead of attempting any actual justice, or even following precedent, but that was their choice.
