Yes, very interesting. I'm sure Manafort's firm, as well as Washington lobbying firms Mercury LLC and the Podesta Group — played a role. The Podesta Group is headed by Tony Podesta, the brother of John Podesta, the former chief of staff of the Obama White House. The case hinges on the failure by the three firms to register under the FARA, a law the Justice Department rarely uses to bring charges. Earlier this year, all three firms filed retroactively with the Justice Department.

MSgt (Join to see) - OK, then no worries. "Affiliated" is based on some relationship, like a current President with a former campaign manager. That is the affiliation between Trump and Paul Manafort. Tony and John Podesta are brothers. Their affiliation is much closer, much stronger than the Trump-Manafort relationship. So when you say John is not affiliated with Podesta Group, you may be right. And Trump may be even less affiliated with Manafort's firm.

Col Joseph Lenertz - Guilt by association is a typical attack the Right likes to use. That said, the investigation is not complete and there could be other indictments that are closer to your POtuS (e.g. Trump Jr./Kushner). I am curious to know how you will feel about “affiliations” if that happens.

MSgt (Join to see) - Agree, guilt by association is exactly the point. It is what some are using to proclaim Trump guilty. I am only pointing out that the association is tighter between two brothers than it is between a president and his ex campaign manager.

But if you read the charges, and have listen to the news, these charges have nothing to do with Russian meddling in the election etc, which was what they were supposed to be investigating, Manafort is being charged with financial crimes of his own doing. Still no charges on Hillary and all those who profited from selling uranium.
