I'm proud to write I too wore the 82nd Airborne patch, Infantry Blue Cord, and the Belgium Fourragère.
Embroidered, backed in Velcro and steeped in 99 years of storied military history, the patch is simple.
A local Army Reserve unit, the 824th Quartermaster Company, formally adopted the familiar “AA” of the All American 82nd Airborne Division in a ceremony Saturday on Fort Bragg’s Stang Field.

I was in the 82nd many moons ago. I don't have a problem with this as long as the Reserve unit is Airborne. If it isn't what's the point?

SFC (Join to see), did you even read the accompanying article? What is the point of your statement, if you did not read it. The 824th Quartermaster Company is a company of Riggers.

I was in many, many, many, many, full moons ago, SFC (Join to see). The picture associated with this thread shows the men at attention with Jump Wings on, so they are AB qualified.

Stationing a USAR Rigger unit on Bragg is a stroke of genius. Imagine a deployment or other emergency and there are another hundred riggers able to show up with!in a few hours to help
