Recon you had to be there... 85 miles to the West... I live in the place where Wyatt Earp used to give out one way train rides to the worthless bastards, kicking them out of Tombstone... The place where in a span of 5 years in this same time period, more than 500 settlers were killed by Apaches in a 50 mile radius. I know I live no more than 8 miles away from where the Confederate forces, after splitting in Mesilla-El Paso Del Norte, and part of them went West to Arizona-California, passed through when I found a Confederate button from Texas on the ground when I was a kid. Yep, the Southwest is a place rich in history of gun battles, rampaging Indians, squatters, Spaniards, villains and such. I've even found a Folsom arrowhead amoung many relics and artifacts laying on the ground in the early 1970's, so many that it filled a Quaker oat meal canister. I summarize... that is the reason why we understand the value of the second amendment so much...the good guy will end up on the winning side...as long as they can still have the firearm of choice of the day and another good guy is willing to step up to the plate when shit hits the fan...
