About time they are being held accountable for their disparaging lies!

“National Public Radio”? Isn’t that something like “TASS”?
Or have we forgotten what a regime does when it is controlling the narrative.

SPC Kevin Ford I canceled my NPR subscription. They used to report facts with a slight left lean. No more.
These days they only cover the left. Their guests are overwhelmingly from the left; they can push whatever narrative they want, with no pushback from the hosts. The questions asked are biased questions, often leading, and designed to further the narrative.
Yes, facts are facts. But NPR has jumped on the bandwagon of "my opinions are facts" "your opinions - even when clearly labeled as opinions - are lies" and "dissent is evil, and should be criminal."
This has largely taken place over the last 5 years.
I am about as far right as you can go. Have been for decades. So it isn't that I have shifted right. They have shifted left. Distinctly.
They still *do* report facts. But the facts are selected to push a narrative. And they are presented heavily with spin.

SFC Casey O'Mally I've listened to them in that time too, but I disagree. What has changed is the polarization around Trump. So the real question becomes has NPR stopped with its factual reporting .... or perhaps, just perhaps, it turns out a guy with a long history of bragging and lying, continued to brag and lie but now his supporters started believing him.

SPC Kevin Ford I am a never-Trumper. One of the reasons (amongst many) is his character - or, as you put it, his lying and bragging.
When he was in power (and during the 2016 election season) I was right there calling out his lies, and pointing out the unlikelihood of some of his more braggadocious campaign promises (like Mexico pay for the wall).
I still do, now that he is out of power. But, these days, there are far more lies ABOUT Trump than FROM him (at least that *I* see). So I am stuck defending him more often than not.
I am not pro-Trump or pro-Biden or pro-Democrat or pro-Reublican. I am pro-truth. And truth with no spin, at that.
So it is not a question of me being taken in by Trump's lies and being unhappy with NPR for exposing them. It is exactly what I said. NPR has shifted a little further to the left in their reporting stance, but MUCH further to the left in their editorial stance. AND they have shifted further toward editorializing and away from reporting.
ALL of the major news networks - both right and left - made the shift to editorials prioritized over reporting over a decade ago. And most of the new ones that have come onto the scene since then have followed suit. NPR was the last major holdout. But they have finally given way.

SFC Casey O'Mally - What lies do you think there are around Trump? I mean coming from NPR. I do see a lot of mischaracterizations of what people say about him, I've seen people jump to conclusions based on available facts at the time, but they were almost always based on facts. Not great, but the guy spent so much time (being generous) in grey legal areas, I don't think anyone fully knew how to report on him.
I'd have to see something in particular from NPR about Trump for us to discuss it. Feelings are not something that can be factually evaluated. I saw a pronounced move to the left from CNN, which is why they moved out of what I would consider my primary news sources during the Trump presidency.
One thing to keep in mind, when Trump showed up, he was something unique in modern US political times. If you remember when Trump started campaigning the news media went to great pains to try and say he wasn't lying when he clearly was. But how they had handled contemporary politicians didn't work for Trump and they soon came to realize that. He lied, conned, self dealt, attacked the media, he uses a ton of innuendo for deniability, etc, etc, etc. They had to start treating him differently.
