Though still commonly referred to as the G.R.U., or Main Intelligence Directorate, the agency in 2010 changed its name to the Main Directorate, or G.U. As before, it is subordinate to the Russian military command.

This is similar to Army Military Intelligence in USA. I hope that it can be said that Army MI case a long shadow also. (Both of us have the same job.)

Can you imagine the Russian Government asking the US to send the head of (or anyone from) the CIA to Russia for interrogation? Somehow Mueller can see the opposite.
