This country does not learn. We are the 'good guys' and have good guy rules and act accordingly to be seen as good guys. Our opponents don't have to worry about public perception and use fear to control the populous. There is nothing to fear from the 'Great Satan.' If you die fighting the infidels you go to paradise. Where is the incentive to give up? The entire establishment needs to be torn down and the indigenous people need to see how a different and safer way of life can be. That requires decades. Our successes are Germany, Japan, and S Korea. Is there any wonder why this is so? What do all of those countries have in common compared with our current policies of laying everything to waste and then pulling out when the new baby learns to take it's first steps? Iraq needed 2 more decades to be a success. If you aren't prepared to go the distance, you embarrass yourself by continuously signing up for the race and falling on your face in front of the competitors.

On point SFC Marino! Neither our politicians, or the civilian populous, understand the commitment it takes to win a war and the peace. Neither study history appropriately, which leads to having our servicemen and women giving their lives in vain. Thankfully, we will always fight for our Brothers/Sisters in arms.

LTC (Join to see) - Another one of many reasons I want everyone who gets a say/vote on who goes to fight MUST have at least did a stint in the armed forces.

It would appear as though Al-Qaeda is unhappy with ISIS/L stealing all of their media thunder and attention from the U.S. and they want to make sure people don't forget about their pathetic excuse for an organization.

The U.S. needs to get our people out of there and let the Iraq and Afghani military and police forces take over efforts to push them out. Big brother America can't keep stopping all of the bullies on the playground, they need to learn to fight for their own lands if they want to keep living there.

I would like to know how do the Afghans feel about the Taliban, how squared away is the military, and how the Afghans view the government.
