It's kind of Personal, It's Kinder (Family). You see the Lietz Family is Converso (Converted) Many could trace their roots back several Generations as Hardcore Catholics, Defenders of the Faith, GrGrandpa Lietz was a Hardcore Catholic but being converso meant that originally they were Jews. So one could say it was a case of Family over Politics. They were Significant Players in the Third Reich running Leica (Gets it's name the same way that Kodak, Eastman Family gets it's name, the sound the camera makes when you push down the button). The Lietz Family or More Correctly Von Lietz (Royal Side) is Credited with the German Shepard Dog. Talk about Ironic Huh! but their acceptance as "
Christians and Nazis" allowed them to save their Kinder.
