@po3 James Deitz I know that Germany is very sensitive when it comes to anything tied to Hitler's legacy, can't blame them for that. The one who suffers is the child. There's so many unreliable relationships now of days. I don't know how it is in Germany but having just been through a divorce and trying to beg my kids dad to be a part of his kids life with no results. It almost seems like a better deal in the long run. Why should kids grow up feeling like one of the parents doesn't want them. Yea, there's amazing men and woman out their that make great step parents, but it doesn't eliminate that abandonment feeling. My daughter doesn't know her dad but I see and feel the sadness in my boys voice when they mention their dad.
