So much for fine German engineering! But seriously, at any given moment the US has hundreds of aircraft that aren't combat ready, we just have more aircraft than Germany.

40 % OR rate is a disgrace. You probably read or saw on Fox or CNN where they were taking parts of a b-1b Lancer displays to keep the remaining flying.

Ya but that's nothing new. When I was with B-1s 25 years ago we tracked cannibalization rates at daily standup. Unfortunately it's a fact of life when you have a small fleet like the B-1, same was true with FB-111s.

Especially with the sequestration we had until recently. I wonder if maintenance issues is what killed those men in the Puerto Rico C-130?

Sure the board is looking at that but video I saw on tv looked like a classic stall. Now what caused the stall is for the board to find.
