I think this is just the beginning. Nano-tech (which this isn't) possibilities are awe-inspiring. My guess is that within a decade they're going to stop looking for cures for cancer, because they'll simply inject you with nanites that will deliver lethal payloads to targeted cancer cells. And once we can directly manipulate atoms (this is coming, too), well...anything is possible.
But besides that, I also think we're going to see tech-human fusions on the macro level too, like this contact for example. Or replacement limbs that mimic real ones 100% and are indistinguishable.
