Here is an interesting video that discusses violence in Chicago. Two key points (IMO) are brought out here:
1. (3.35) two males talk about where they get guns. "off the street, people sell them" Note that the weapons shown and discussed are not the cheap Saturday night specials of 20 years ago. These are modern handguns.
2. (8.19) Chief of police states that the gun violence is a failure of society, "at the end of the day its the person that picks up the gun and pulls the trigger that's responsible for this gun violence".
What are your thoughts on this? In Chicago IL, a city with some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country, guns are available on the streets without any background checks all you need is cash. How exactly would any law that further restricts gun ownership or makes it harder for a law abiding citizen to purchase a gun have any effect in a lawless society that is depicted in this news piece?

Sir it has been said time and time again Laws are only for the law abiding, criminals laugh and do what they want, Many illegal drugs are illegal to sell and yet you can still get them almost everywhere. Murder is illegal yet we have criminal lining up to break that law daily.

Gun laws are a joke. People have said instead of making new laws, enforce the laws we already have. From the day the first gun law was passed, criminals were breaking it. There are no laws existing or future, that is going to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Anybody that thinks otherwise are not living in reality.

LTC (Join to see) Using failed logic that criminals or outlaws follow the law. restrictive laws only put the law abiding citizen at risk and at the mercy of criminals. A armed society is a polite society.
