First I hate it that the entire planet is not safe to take your pregnant wife. However, Wayne you should get the dead on bulls eye award for that one. I could not have said it better, a special kind of stupid.

I get that some people are willing and desire to go to dangerous places to work for an NGO or as a missionary. I can respect that. What I find unconscionable is that someone would take their children.

Missionary? There is a story out of Iraq that one of the militias captured a bus load of Jehovahs Witnesses and spent a week trying to ransom them. They finally just dumped them

Utterly stupid. Absolutely no pity for this pair or what happened. Afghanistan isn't a tourist destination for anyone other than a jihadi. If you travel to a war torn country run by a terrorist shadow government, it should not be a surprise to any sensible person that you end up killed or captured.
