I'm sorry, I entirely understand it's a serious article, honest, I really do, and I know of the Flynn effect, however, regardless, that's just about the single dumbest supposition I've ever seen...the reason for decline in elementary schools is mainly due to the availability of video games, cell phones, tablets, laptops, and PCs, for immature minds way too ill-prepared to benefit from the properly, with the obvious consequence of damaging intellectual development...the capacity for study and drill commensurately decline...to my way of thinking, no kid should have video games, cell phones, tablets, laptops, or PCs, until, minimum, mid-high school, and, preferably, not at all...there's no reason for them, no use for them, no purpose to them, no kid needs one, they damage reading, penmanship, mathematical comprehension...the same is true for calculators, which I didn't have till mid-high school, when they were initially released, and which no kid should ever be allowed to use, at all, period, until exactly the same age rane, period, cut and dry, QED, end of story, the end...peak intellience? Personally, I think the author, while obviously serious, has a major intellectual screw loose, quite honestly...as I said, I know I'm gonna be disagreed with here, however, what the author is actually referring to is cultural acquisition of knowledge, which masquerades as individual intelligence...the human race has got a LONG way to go before it even REMOTELY gets even CLOSE to anything like peak intelligence, to my way of thinking...there've been wars on this stupid planet for going on several millennia, with zero sign of slowing down that I can see...if that's indicative of peak intelligence, it's a wonder to me the human race hasn't totally blown itself up already...
