Many of us have pointed out the dangers of Trump pussyfooting around with racist groups for a long time. Trump's many non-racist supporters have turned a blind eye, instead getting all indignant and implying that anyone who pointed out that racists support Trump was also saying that all Trump supporters are racist (we weren't).
Perhaps now with outward displays of Nazism and a likely terrorist attack, this will finally get them to look at who they are laying down with.
Bah, who am I kidding.

PFC Roger Goff - Politicians have long condemned the support of groups like this and were lambasted if they didn't do it quickly enough. For some reason Trump is pretty unique in not being held to do it.
I'm with you on last election. It was hold your nose and vote.

SPC Kevin Ford You are right when it comes to the worst of the hate groups and typical politicians distancing themselves. Donald Trump isn't a typical politician, and doesn't always follow the conventional political path. So to me his not calling the White Supremacist hate groups out isn't a huge surprise. He follows some of the conventions, and then ignores others. Does he use a dart board to decide? I don't know. He stays unpredictable in many ways.

And at this point, after what happened over the weekend, I really have to wonder why he acts this way. I _don't_ think he's a sympathizer to these groups. But it seems that a rational person in his position would see any association with these groups as political-self-destruction. So, why doesn't he explicitly disassociate his administration from them?

SGT (Join to see) - I suspect he's cynically pushing populist agendas to pander for votes, including to these groups. As long as his supporters don't hold him to account, he's golden and that's been the case so far. That should give pause to any group that he's pandering to that perhaps he's just saying what they want to hear, but that unpleasant thought doesn't seem to break through. At the end if the day I think Trump's primary interest is Trump.
The parties on both sides are so concerned with their own parties they have trouble dealing with something like him now that's he's in under their flag. Their primary concern at this point seems to be protecting their party's image. But things are slowing moving to the point where cracks are beginning to show as the Republicans are reaching to the point where they are starting to feel that he's hurting the party more then their opposition to him would.

His brother went to fight the Nazi's because that was where he was ordered to go. He took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, follow orders etc. like everyone else.
As disgusting as a Nazi party or group is, they have right to exists just like all of the other extremist groups. I would prefer they evaporated and went the way of the Dodo bird along with a lot of other groups (The Klan, Antifa, BLM just to name a few). Hatch is putting warm air over the vocal chords as he knows the law as well as anyone.

My understanding is that Hatch is _denouncing_ Nazis, personally and specifically, probably to differentiate his response from that of the White House. There is a great difference between denouncing a group and banning it. The Constitution protects the right of people to peaceably assemble, and by extension to form groups, but it __does_NOT__ give protection against being criticized and called evil.

SGT (Join to see) - you see... The conservative GOP spends 90% of their time virtue signally each other and about 1% of their time actually doing something.... Denouncing someone is what I call "Shaking the angry fist at the sky" because you are too impotent to take any real action.

Who are you to comment on mental states? And how do you know the operational plans? Were you involved with this to possess such intimate knowledge?
