LTC,
There should have never been hate crimes. It places some above others. Plus, it requires someone to decide what a person was thinking or feeling towards another.
Crimes should be just that crimes. Some should carry harsher penalties.
It is the same with hate speech. Some groups can use the N-word. Some cannot. That actually makes it racist. Freedom of speech is just that. However, there is in society proper etiquette.
Have a good day Sir,

What exactly is a hate crime... It's just an superfluous accusation to get around the eighth amendment... Sure.. You can punish someone for murder... But you can pile on more sadism with enhanced murders...

LTC David Brown - It says updated 2021 but it doesn't say what they updated...
"There were 7,759 reported hate crimes in the U.S. last year — the most in 12 years, the FBI reported this week. But some experts and advocacy groups say the true number is probably even higher.
The number of recorded bias incidents reported by the FBI was the highest since 2008, when 7,783 hate crimes were reported to the agency, federal data shows.
The spike in 2020 follows a recent upward trend in bias incidents, and it was a 6% increase over 2019."
The last year was 2020 - and hate crimes continuing to increase is a reflection of the cultists who worship 45 and continue to spread their hate.
Any silence you perceive is people just not wanting to waste time discussing with you on this topic.

LTC David Brown - I wasn't silent. What you posted and alleged was under Biden was actually under Trump, and I called you out on it.
And if hate crimes are continuing to increase, as they did under Trump, you should be able to support that by citing to the data or an article from a reputable source.

Capt Gregory Prickett - look it up. I am willing to bet, looking at trends that hate crimes will continue to spike. Want to take the bet? I will also bet Biden won’t be labeled as responsible as Trump was.

LTC David Brown - It very well may, but you posted something, and then made comments about it that were not true, based on the article. So I asked for evidence, and you posted some evidence that is tied to Trump, not Biden.
