They will never be able to just take them, but we already know, they will use every means necessary to limit ownership until one day there will be no ownership. Baby steps! Nudge by cass sunstein, BO's regulatory czar, believes in small but every increasing regulatory steps to total control and guns are a part of that equation. Now why would the current potus hire someone who thinks like that?

The Firearms Owners Protection Act is clear on its prohibition against ANY federal database of guns or gun owners.
"No such rule or regulation prescribed [by the Attorney General] after the date of the enactment of the Firearms Owners Protection Act may require that records required to be maintained under this chapter or any portion of the contents of such records, be recorded at or transferred to a facility owned, managed, or controlled by the United States or any State or any political subdivision thereof, nor that any system of registration of firearms, firearms owners, or firearms transactions or disposition be established."

I was stationed on Oahu for 3 years. They have a captive audience. The airport is fairly tight. Ports are controlled.
Problem with the whole "database" thing is that there are holes everywhere. I agree Waikiki is no where near Chicago but you can purchase illegal firearms on the streets. Home break-ins happen. Shit gets passed around.
You can only be placed in that database if you follow the law. Criminals don't follow laws and REAL Patriots don't follow stupid laws..

How about fire arms deaths and murders, MSG Pat Colby? I was trying to find out why they are giving away their gun owners information to the Federal database since there is not much felony murders.

SGT (Join to see) - Because they have to start somewhere. Frog in the pan of water. We are being conditioned. It's the standard "Nothing to hide" argument. Why would you oppose any type of registration it if you have nothing to hide? They start in a heavily Dem area then tout the merits of the control measures.

MSG Pat Colby, My weapons are already registered. They were registered when I passed the FBI check. That's all they need to know about me and my weapons. It's a first step to government control over our weapons, which are supposed to be protected by the second amendment. Of which our government is trying to change the wording and the intent of the amendment. None of this crap got serious until Obama got into office. Coming from Chicago, I guess I can understand his reasoning except Chicago is supposed to have the toughest gun laws in the nation. If their gun laws aren't working, they need to come up with something else that will work. It's not our country's responsibility to enact gun laws. It's the states responsibility to come up with a workable solution and enforce it.

Here's my solution. I don't own any firearms or ammo. I had my moment of Epiphany several years ago and came to the conclusion that guns are icky. I traded all of my weaponry to random people at a yard sale many years ago for Pot and Liquor. The Pot is all smoked up and gone but I still have a couple of bottles of liquor left. I own nothing to register. Nothing to see here. The Feds can go search somewhere else cuz I am not on any registries nor do I intend to be.
