I live directly north of the El Dorado fire. The communities of Angelus Oaks, Forest Falls, Seven Oaks, and now an advisory for Big Bear Valley have been issued. The fire is moving North but firefighters are kicking ass! They are the Warriors of the fire front.

Living in the mountains as I do is beautiful and Serene most of the time. But we have to be ready at a moment's notice to evacuate. I've had to do it three times. But we get through. We deal with it. The smoke is terrible and I have asthma which makes it even worse. All of those years as a smoker even though I haven't had one in gosh 17 years? have come back to kick me in the ask.

But that's one thing the military had taught me. The "just deal with it" attitude. Before the military for example if I was standing in a very long line at the movie theater I'd get anxious and even angry. When I got out I could stand in line for hours and not even break a sweat. LOL. The Army taught me hurry up and wait.

It's my understanding that the smoke is made it all the way to the east coast at this point. Satellite images are nasty! I've attached an image of what it looks like where I live.

I have family throughout the state after our move from Hawaii. Grand untouched forests plagued by drought is now kindling.
