LTC Stephen Conway Friend I flew with was Air Attache to Brazil in late 70s - early 80s and told me there were still a lot of Nazi sympathizers in remote areas of the country.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen What is strange is of at least 3 German U boats went to South America right around the end or a few months after may 1945. This is very strange!

the "Todesengel-Angel of Death" escaped Germany in April of 1949 making his way to
Argentina. Dr. Mengele moved to Brazil where he lived until February of 1979 when he
suffered a stroke while swimming and drowned. Dr. Mengele was never brought to
justice and punished for his war crimes.
