RP Members and Connections I'd like to introduce you to a great Civilian Supporter here on RallyPoint
Sharon Danitschek, President of the Military Reunion Network. The Military Reunion Network is a trade organization for anything and everything related to military reunions.
Please feel free to send Sharon Danitschek a connection request here on RallyPoint. She is looking forward to meeting all of you and staying engaged on RallyPoint.
Veterans that are curious about or have volunteered to plan a reunion are complimentary members. They have access to the newsletter, bimonthly magazine, and discounted registration to all events. The community is a blend of veterans, hoteliers, city destination representatives (Convention Visitor Bureaus), attractions and professionals that can plan a reunion (tour operators/third party planners).
The mission for The Military Reunion Network is to educate veterans on how to plan their own reunion. Show them how to find the free services, support, grants and sponsorships that are available to them. Make available an accessible comprehensive list of resources from event insurance to logo items, planning manuals to organizational forms....all for free.
Why? two reasons:
1) Protect veterans:
from paying for things they can get for free
from paying full price for items that can be discounted
from liability that comes with planning an event
2) Save a life:
The Veterans Administration August 2016 report on veteran suicide concludes that 20 veterans a day take their lives by their own hand. 65% of them are 50 years and older. Conversations and interviews conducted by The Military Reunion Network since 2014 have led them to believe that a significant reduction in veteran suicide is possible through veterans staying connected with their battle buddies long after leaving the military. A series of interviews on The Military Reunion Network radiocast aired earlier this year is a reflection of their findings. They are committed to making it possible for veterans and their families to stay connected one reunion at a time.
Any veteran should be able to participate in our program. Sharon is happy to waive the registration fee of $149 per couple and $99 single if anyone is interested in joining us and learning more. Our events take place across the country. We cover hotel accommodations, group meals and all resources.
If nothing else, veterans meet other pretty cool veterans!!!
