It just goes to show you that you can not outlaw guns because at some point someone will make one. If an ISIS "genius" can come up this .50 Cal, than any "Red Neck" with a machine shop here in America can as well....and probably better looking as well as functional.

LTC Thomas Tennant Isn't that how we ended up with things like Henry Repeating Arms and Winchester? I agree with you fully. You will have people seeking each other out: Master metal workers and master woodworkers creating one off firearms in secret. That should really scare the anti gunners. Those guns would not have any serial numbers, or other governmental tracking information. They would just be private projects made underground, and the owners would certainly not be forthcoming with details.

Alan K. "Those who want to outlaw .50 BMG in the United States should take notice." This line applies across the board to firearms. For those who think that banning guns, even if (and I don't believe for a second that it is) it was possible to remove every firearm from every non military/police/government entity, would actually make guns go away, they are delusional. Guns are not going away. This ingenious solution to the need for a sniper rifle by ISIL shows that people with a need, a will, and a little resourcefulness will figure out a solution. Then again modern weapons now are a result of taking what was done before, and building on it. From the discovery of gunpowder to modern firearms is all just a matter of building on those who came before. Of course now the focus is on efficiency, ballistics, and accuracy as opposed to the problems of the past. Thanks for sharing this. It made both nauseated and impressed at the same time.

Interesting work. Not going to win a beauty show, but looks to be functional.

LTC (Join to see) I really like the way they combined wood, metal, bicycle tire, and packing tape. Like clean out the garage and end up building a big bore sniper rifle.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - clean out the garage... how many people happen to have an old .50 cal barrel hanging around in the garage. Well. officer, I took it home because it was excess and we were having an IG inspection...

LTC (Join to see) - I keep mine in the couch next to the loose change. Never know when you will need a .50 cal barrel, or some spare change.
