This is starting to become an annoyance, at least now more than it has been. Whatever the case is in this situation, I'm praying for a safe outcome. The suspect is described as a male with a tan t-shirt and black basketball shorts. This is the type of news that puts a negative mark on the Army Soldier. My question to this community: How are we identifying our high risk soldiers? What procedures are we using? Are we addressing their issues, or pushing them to the wayside? For NCOs, our primary duty is to care for soldiers by leading, mentoring, and coaching them.
Wherever the malfunction with this person is, I can say one thing. The changes that come along with this situation need to happen, and they need to happen now. More to follow regarding this situation.

First off let's not jump to the conclusion that it's a Soldier just because it's happening on a military installation, the last shooting incident at Fort Bliss was perpetrated by a civilian.

I see your point, but I also see a hypersensitive issue of people being batsh*t crazy against guns. The professor continually reporting ROTC cadets recently, now a lock down over returning equipment to a military facility. These reactions are dangerous also. What happens when responding LEOs stumble upon the scene where s legitimate person doesn't immediately respond to orders to put down weapons, because they are supposed to have them at that location?
