.... sigh .... why every time there is a cut ... military and veteran are those that sacrifice again, it sound like someone out there believe that the military is like a social program ... just wonder did they cut anything else .... for example the social security, blah blah blah ...

At least the US House is moving in the right direction Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS. Making improvements within sequestration is very difficult. Increases in spending require decreases in spending within the same budget category. The cuts do not cut the GI Bill allocation for college but they do cut the stipend which is an allowance to help offset the cost of living expenses.
"A House Veterans Affairs Committee spokesman noted that the cuts are less drastic than those recommended by the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission, which called for a complete elimination of housing stipends for both military spouses and children using the GI Bill."

I (generally) try to make no judgments on the articles as presented. The link to military made it worth sharing for the community. I'm still trying to decide where I stand on this.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS - I concur with you on this.
I think of this as a gray area issue with no easy solution.
Sequestration makes it difficult to institute change [positive or negative]. We have seen how it has impacted TRICARE pharmacy out-of-pocket costs, military pay raises, etc.
