African politicans will represent the interests of whomever is putting money into their slush funds. I hope it results in stable countries. It looks like China learned from some mistakes and put money into infrastructure and investment into plants and capital, not just natural resource extraction. It will be interesting to see how each develop over time.

China also it seems has been buying support from other countries through economic control which give China the ability to pressure them into supporting China vote in the United Nations as an example. Also instead of sending in an invading Army China gains control of another countries economy and through that actually controls that country.
