Contributing to society does not change the fact that they broke out laws in the first place. That act makes them criminals. All criminals pay into the system in some way. Serial killers pay taxes too, that doesn't excuse their crimes either. In total, illegal immigrants are a drain on the system because they get more in benefits than they contribute.

Kentucky is also a drain... they receive more federal funding than it contributes.

Great article shipmate, it is truly sad that these people work hard and pay into the system, only to have it bite them in the rear.

Nothing about paying taxes contributes to biting them in the rear, the fact that they immigrated illegally is what finally bit them in the rear.

Case in point for the need for immigration reform. Meet 'em at the border, fingerprint, pictures, DNA, Check for disease, heck, install a tracking device.

Give them a Tax ID. Work, Pay taxes.
- Break a law more serious than a traffic stop? Their legal due process ends at the Grand Jury.

- No government benefits, unemployment, food stamps, housing, phones, etc. If they don't work, they don't eat.

- Having kids doesn't guarantee citizenship, for either the kids or the immigrant (e.g. if the parents get deported, the kids go with them) until the kid is an adult, then citizenship (if they want it) is granted after military service.

- Get deported and property (other than personal effects) is sold at auction to highest bidder.
